It is indeed a distinct honour and great pleasure to contribute to my dear friend, Professor Akio Morita's (AMor's) Retirement Achievement Summary. I have known him rather closely over last years since he became the Assistant Secretary, WFNS. We have shared many hours in various WFNS activities. What impressed me most was his composed demeanor during discussion on many contentious issues. He always took the correct stand, does not matter how unpleasant it was and yet with a disarming smile. Thus appeared a neurosurgery leader in the world stage, highly respected and non-controversial. Recently elected as a Member of the exclusive World Academy of Neurological Surgeons (WANS), he is also currently the Secretary of WFNS and Vice President of our Continental Society, AASNS. ( Figure 1)

AMor contributed extensively to our continental (AASNS) and web education programmes. (Figure 2) His presentations are always clear, precise and sought after. A neurosurgeon par excellence, a scientist, an avid educator, Akio was equally at ease in any environment. A foodie, he enjoyed sushi as much as beer and wine. He travels extensively and we are looking forward to his 2nd trip to Agra, India in 6 moths, this time for the WFNS Foundation Education Course in April 2023. (Figure 3)
