The 6th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Vitiligo Society

Dear Friends and Colleagues:
It is our great honor and pleasure to host the joint conference of the 4th Meeting of East Asia Vitiligo Association (4th EAVA) and the 6th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Vitiligo Society (JSV2024), which will be held at Yamagata TERRSA (Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture: https://yamagataterrsa.or.jp ) from September 21st (Saturday) to 23rd (Monday, National Holiday), 2024.
The East Asia Vitiligo Association (EAVA) is composed of vitiligo research organizations and societies from four countries and regions: Korea, Taiwan, China (Shanghai), and Japan. Since its first academic conference in Seoul, Korea in 2016 under the presidency of Professor Seung-Chul Lee, the EAVA academic meeting had been held every two years. In 2018, Professor Ichiro Katayama hosted the conference in Osaka, and in 2020 Professor Cheng-Che E. Lan held the conference, entirely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently, the conference was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, we received many opinions from various individuals suggesting that we hold the EAVA meeting in Yamagata in conjunction with the 6th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Vitiligo Society, and we have decided to proceed with the event. This marks the fourth academic conference in four years. Prominent vitiligo researchers representing various regions of East Asia will gather to deliver cutting-edge presentations and engage in lively discussions. Furthermore, we plan to invite a distinguished vitiligo researcher from the United States as special guests.
On the other hand, this marks the 6th annual meeting for the Japanese Vitiligo Society. The number of participants has increased, and the content and presenters of the presentations have become more diverse. As a result, we are steadily progressing towards our goal of increasing the population of vitiligo researchers in Japan and enhancing their activity. We believe that continuous development in the future is crucial. By jointly holding these two academic conferences this time, we anticipate a synergistic effect. We are diligently preparing an attractive program and look forward to welcoming many participants. We look forward to your participation in Yamagata with delicious Yamagata food and drinks.

この度、2024年（令和６年）9月21日（土）～23日（月・祝）の3日間に亘り、山形テルサ（山形県山形市）において、The 4th Meeting of East Asia Vitiligo Association (4th EAVA; 第4回東アジア白斑連合学会)と第6回日本白斑学会学術大会（JSV2024）の合同大会を開催させて頂くことになりました。
東アジア白斑連合（EAVA）は韓国、台湾、上海、そして我が国の4つの国と地域の白斑研究組織・学会によって構成されております。2016年にSeung-Chul Lee教授を会頭として韓国ソウルで第1回の学術大会が行われて以来、これまでに原則2年毎に持ち回りで学術大会を開催してきました。2018年に片山一朗教授が大阪で開催され、2020年にはCheng-Che E. Lan教授がコロナ禍のため完全webにて開催されております。その後は、COVID-19 パンデミックにより延期されておりましたが、この度、第6回日本白斑学会と合同で山形にて開催してはどうかとのご意見を多くの方からいただき、開催する運びとなりました。今回が4年ぶり4回目の学術大会です。東アジアのそれぞれの地域を代表する白斑研究者が集い、最先端の発表と活発な意見交換が行われる予定です。また、特別ゲストとして、米国より高名な白斑研究者をお招きする予定であります。一方、日本白斑学会の方は、今回で6回目の学術大会を迎えることになりました。第2回（岡山市開催）、第4回（山形市開催）JSVに続いて再び当科でこの白斑学会学術大会を開催させていただき、大変光栄に存じます。学術大会の回数を重ねるごとに参加者が増え、その発表内容と発表者が多様になってきております。その結果、本学会が目指す本邦の白斑研究者人口を増やし、活動性を高めるという目標に向かって順調に前進している状態であります。今後、さらに継続して発展していくことが重要と考えます。今回、この2つの学術大会を合同で行うことにより、相乗効果が期待できるものと考えました。魅力的なプログラムを用意して、多くの参加者をお迎えできますよう事務局一同、鋭意準備にあたっておりますので、ぜひご参加ください。
