The Consortium for Lao Health Research

The Consortium for Lao Health Research was established in 2003, by Japanese professionals who are enthusiastic about supporting the advancement of health of Lao people. Currently, the consortium members consist of more than 50 Japanese including researchers from a variety of expertise, medical practitioners and health policy advisers. The consortium promotes collaboration and information exchange among the consortium members, in order to reduce the work burden of Lao counterparts who collaborate with our members and to implement researches and projects more efficiently. The consortium also promotes human resource development among Lao and Japanese young practitioners and researchers. The Lao Tropical and Public Health Institute (formerly, The National Institute of Public Health, Lao PDR), has been holding the National Health Research Forum (NHRF) annually since 2007. The consortium has continuously supported the NHRF where the consortium members actively present and disseminate research findings and lessons learnt from thier activities for health-policy planning and formulation in Lao PDR.
