The TR Initiative Delivers the Information Needed by Businesses

Comprehensive Research Mapping System

  • The TR Initiative comprehensively identifies TR-related research conducted at the university (SEEDS research).
    • Regular surveys of SEEDS research are conducted, and the database is updated (generally twice per year)
    • Using the results of these SEEDS research surveys, data sheets for each SEEDS research and each researcher are created, maintained, and managed.

    • This data covers all attributes required to ascertain SEEDS research content.
  • The TR Initiative aims to build a system that enables SEEDS research matching the needs and interests of our corporate partners to be easily extracted from the vast SEEDS research data on file (Research Mapping System).Reference →
    • Research Mapping System functions allow SEEDS research data to be extracted according to combinations of attributes.
    • This makes it possible to locate the required (desired) SEEDS research via the internet, easily and instantly.

Proactive Application of TR Know-How

The TR Initiative increases the success rate of TR projects by applying strategic TR know-how to innovative academic research.

  • The TR Initiative has established a Steering and Science Committee (SSC).
    • The SSC is comprised of professionals with a wealth of experience in health care companies, including R&D (fundamental, clinical and pharmacological research), intellectual property, licensing, and organizational management. The Committee includes medical patent attorneys, former regulatory professionals, business consultants (temporary), and legal advisors.Reference →
    • By providing the necessary specialist advice and support to TR projects from their early stages, the SSC works to ensure that translational research delivers the results required by businesses.Reference →
    • The SSC has established strict internal rules regarding conflict of interest, and will not maintain direct contact with businesses involved in the TR Initiative.
