A new study from the Matsuo Group has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
This study identifies the specific hippocampus‑dependent neural cells that convey conditioned stimuli and elucidates their activity dynamics during associative learning.
These findings are expected to advance our understanding of memory formation mechanisms and contribute to uncovering the causes and developing treatments for psychiatric disorders such as PTSD and addiction, which are thought to arise from disruptions in the regulation of conditioning.
Congratulations!
