It is my great pleasure to announce the AsiaCORD Meeting 2025 in Tokyo, Japan.
AsiaCORD was founded in Bangkok in November 2000 to promote
mutual cooperation and scientific understanding among cord blood banks
in Asian countries to provide high quality cord blood. We have contributed
to the quality improvement of cord blood banking in Asia by organizing
scientific meetings and inspections of cord blood banks. Many of our goals
have been achieved and cord blood donation systems have been established,
although each country has its own unique circumstances. With the exception
of Japan, the number of CBTs has decreased worldwide due to improved
hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) protocols and new drugs
to control graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in haplo-HLA-identical HSCT,
and cord blood banking is also on a downward trend. However, cord blood is
once again gaining attention as a source of HSC expansion and CAR-T/NK
immune cell therapies.
Recently, umbilical cord tissue has been shown to be a treasure trove of MSCs, and many
clinical trials have been conducted worldwide, such as COVID-19-related ARDS, cerebral
palsy and severe GVHD as immunotherapies and regenerative medicines. Asia, in particular,
is leading the world in research into these umbilical cord derived MSCs.
In recent years, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the succession of leadership in cord
blood banks, AsiaCORD has not been able to meet regularly. However, the direction of
AsiaCORD has not wavered despite the lull in activity. Now, we, AsiaCORD Chairperson
Prof. Kaiyan Liu and Secretary Tokiko Nagamura-Inoue strongly would like to urge you to
come together again to continue and develop AsiaCORD as we have done over the years.
If you are interested in the newly started AsiaCORD and would like to become a sponsor

Award for excellent abstract
The AsiaCORD 2015 organizing committee member and program Committee will select 2 speakers, who presented excellent oral or poster abstracts from those that have been submitted. Each excellent abstract author will receive 50,000(JPY) and an honorable certificate.
