Alliance Treaty

Article 2 - Purpose

The Alliance aims to provide drugs and medical devices with high medical needs by promoting investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials through collaboration and cooperation between high performing university hospitals.
In addition, contribute as a model project in regional cooperation of the University Hospital Clinical Research Promotion Initiative.


Article 3 - Activities

The Alliance will engage in the following activities in order to achieve the purpose set forth in the preceding Article.
  1. We will provide support from exploration of seeds to translational research ensuring smooth cooperation between the member universities.
  2. Establishment and operation of the joint research ethics committee and ethics education for researchers.
  3. Interchange and training of professional staff who will support researchers and research.
  4. Interchange and training of Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC).
  5. Promote clinical development through mutual use of research resources between the universities.
  6. Support feasiblity assessment of clinical research and trials.
  7. Promote collaborative projects and quality control through mutual enlightenment.
  8. Enlighten public and the clinical research participants.
  9. Cooperation between the member universities on external relations activities, such as accepting sponsor-initiated clinical trials.
  10. Support University Hospital Clinical Trial Alliance administrative affairs.
  11. Other activities necessary to achieve the objectives of the UHCT Alliance.


Major Projects of the UHCT Alliance

  1. We will provide support from exploration of seeds to translational research ensuring smooth cooperation between the member universities.
  2. Conduct activities to establish and operate joint research ethics committee and to implement research ethics education.
  3. Provide education and training programs (opportunities) for staff who support research and researchers.
  4. Support and promote mutual use of resources necessary for research and development.
  5. Provide support and cooperation for the feasibility assessment of clinical research and trials.
  6. Mutual enligntenment activities related to quality assurance.
  7. Activities to enlighten the public and clinical research participants.
  8. External relation activities such accepting sponsor-initiated clinical trials.


UHCT Alliance Administrative Office
Undertakes external relations and project promotion

Act as a conduit between the sponsor and the Alliance.

The Alliance aims at promoting investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials through collaboration and cooperation between university hospitals, to supply drugs or medical devices that have high medical needs. Alliance will serve as the gateway to support it.
