量子科学技術研究開発機構の山谷泰賀先生が

米国核医学会(SNMMI) Hal Anger Lectureship Awardを受賞されました。

Hal Anger博士（1920年-2005年）は言わずと知れたガンマカメラの発明者で、

今でもガンマカメラはアンガーカメラとも呼ばれます。

歴代受賞者にはPET発明者の1人であるMicheal H. Phelps博士（2008年受賞）、

内部被ばく線量計算ソフトウェアOLINDAの開発者で知られるMichael G. Stabin博士（2013年受賞）、

3D-SSPの開発に携わったRobert Koeppe博士（2015年受賞）らが名を連ねています。

受賞理由は下記のとおり紹介されています。

“Application-Specific PET Systems Expanding the Potential of Nuclear Medicine”

Dr.  Yamaya’s impressive and unique work on PET instrumentation, including brain imaging, small-animal imaging, and in beam monitoring of proton irradiation, has influenced the field for many years and embodies the legacy of Dr. Anger.

これまで積み重ねられてきた日本の核医学理工学研究が世界に認められた1例であり、

日本の核医学分野にとって明るいニュースであると思います。

SNMMI 2023 Annual Meeting ＠ Chicago のPlenary Sessionにて山谷先生の講演が予定されています。
