"We've always tried to be at the intersection of technology and liberal arts.""

Based on the Cambridge dictionary, the difinition of "Liberal Arts" is college or university subjects, such as history, languages, and literature, that develop students's general education rather than preparing them for a particular job.

In japan, This is called as "Kyouyou (教養)" and all university have this culliclum.

It is often said that there are a lot of reasons why we have to study these categories outside our field: this allows for exploration into our interests and this tradition can increase our world-view and add depth to our college experience.

However honestly, many students including me don't like to study the general education courses in the first and second year because we tend to consider the knowledge brings few benefit to us. Recent young students, especially medical students have "energy-saving thinking"; all we have to do is study minimum to pass exams.

Therefore, to study about other things outside of medicine might be the essential for us if we hope to achieve great purposes.

As I like some books written by "Hideo Kobayashi" who was a famous critics in Japan, I put some great sentence from them and add little my thinkings.
