The Physical Chemistry Laboratory is a laboratory that originated from the Department of Biophysics (Prof. Mitsuo Sato, which has existed since the establishment of the Faculty of Pharma-Sciences, Teikyo University. Since Dr. Kishimoto joined the laboratory in winter of 2020 after working at the Department of Biophysics, Tokushima Bunri University (Sanuki, Kagawa)(Prof. Yutaka Kirino, Ph.D.), our laboratory has expanded its research themes to include animal behavioral systems such as cerebellar motor learning to clarify the synaptic and molecular basis of memory and to expand our knowledge of neuropsychiatric disorders. We have also begun research on the physiological functions of endogenous cannabinoid receptors, the development of animal models of placebo response, and research on research productivity in the Department of Pharmacy. Research on coordination chemistry and the synthesis, properties, and reactivity of non-planar porphyrins, which has been a theme of the department since its establishment, is also a traditional part of our research.
