BITS AND PIECES OF JAPAN

YOKOHAMA

[chinatown]

[Chinatown in Yokohama]

Big chinatown in Yokohama. Yokohama is just one hour trip by train from central Tokyo.

[yamashita park]

[Yamashita Park]

Park near the sea. Freezing.

On the New Year's Eve, people come here to celebrate.

[hikawamaru]

[Hikawamaru]

Famous ship moored forever by Yamashita Park.

[landmark tower]

[Yokohama Landmark Tower]

Doesn't look like it, but Japan's tallest building (273 meters high, 70 floors). You can go up to the 69th floor with the fasted elevator on earth (750m/min). A bit expensive experience, but it's fun going up there.

SHODOSHIMA

[shodoshima]

[Shodoshima]

Shodoshima is an island in Setonai sea, which is surrounded by the mainland Japan and Shikoku Island.

A resort place for summer, but not winter. Famous for olive oil.

This is the very west side of the island.

[shodoshima]

[can-can-can-bottle]

Somehow very funny rubbish bins.

[shodoshima]

[Shodoshima]

Dusk.

[shodoshima]

[Shodoshima]

Morning.

[cats]

[Cats in Shodoshima]

They didn't let me touch.

Dumb cats :)
