The Earliest History of URMPM

Japan Society of Risk Management for Preventive Medicine (JSRMPM) started from January 17, 2002 by myself with several world colleagues in the below. And two international societies of risk management for preventive medicine, i.e., Union of Risk Management for Preventive Medicine (URMPM), and Asia Pacific Society of Risk Management for Preventive Medicine (APSRMPM) were separated from the international section of JSRMPM since spring, 2002. And Atlantic Society of Risk Management for Preventive Medicine (ATSRMPM) and Malaysia Society of Risk Management for Preventive Medicine (MSRMPM) started from October 2002. All of those five societies have the same purposes described in the PURPOSE on this homepage.

The first core members of JSRMPM on January, 2002 were as follows.
Oversea Profs. Geoge Gray (Harvard Univ.), Chen Xi Kang (Chinese Academy), Ragnar E Lofstedt (King's, College of London), Karen C. Polenske (MIT), Hans C. Siegmann (Stanford Univ.), William G. Thilly (MIT), Wlater C. Willette (Harvard Univ.) & Bengt Winblad (Karolinska Inst.).
Oversea Vice: Prof. Stephan Morgenthaler (EPFL).
Oversea Director: Prof. Rusli B. Nordin (USM).
Japanese Vices: Profs. I. Kamae, S. Niwa, T. Shirakawa & T. Yoshinura.

And the followings has been changed by now.
Stephan moved to the URMPM President on March, 2002.
Rusli moved to the APSRMPM President on April, 2002.
Ryoji started the URMPM Chairperson from August, 2002.
Rusli started the MSRMPM President on September, 2002.
Ryoji started the ATSRMPM President from October, 2002.

We now face on the International Conference jointly with the above five societies during March 27-28, Tokyo, Japan. The Conference website is as follows.

Have a nice talking, all together with us.

As shown in the above, we have a small burn in 2002, which will generate a big burn in the future generations of the world.

Finally, we express our great appreciations for your warm considerations, and ask you to enjoy this interdisciplinary health world.

Best regards,
Sincerely,
Prof. Ryoji Sakai (EPFL, USM, SU, et al), November 17, 2002.
