I was graduated from West China School of Public Health, Sichuan University with a master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Hygiene in 2014. Now I am an attending doctor and clinical dietitian, working at the department of clinical nutrition, Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital. I am specialized in enteral and parenteral nutritional support for patients.

I am going to pursue my PhD degree in Medical Sciences at Tsukuba University. My research interests are focusing on public health and nutrition, particularly in the vulnerable population of infants and young children, the pregnant, and also the elderly.

Hello, everyone. I’m Sun Yixin from Suzhou City, China. I’m a practitioner in the field of child development, and at the same time I’m the mother of a 19-month-old boy. Hello, everyone! I’m Bruna Navarone Santos from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I hold a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences along with a master’s degree in Science. Currently, I’m pursuing a Ph.D. in Education in Biosciences and Health at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation/Oswaldo Cruz Institute. I’m thrilled to be a part of the Empowerment Sciences lab at the University of Tsukuba, under the guidance of Professor Anme. My focus is on enhancing my understanding of Empowerment theories and observation techniques using the IRSC and IRSA social interaction scales.

My research focuses on comparing science education perspectives in Brazil and Japan, particularly programs like the Scientific Vocation Program and Sakura Science. Furthermore, I aim to understand how cultural and historical conceptions of science influence program objectives, planning, and student engagement, as well as how cultural differences impact these aspects and contribute to student empowerment. Therefore, my aim is to comprehend the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes shared in science education programs in Brazil and Japan and how these factors can enhance student empowerment.
