Rehabilitation Act The Rehabilitation
Act of 1973, as amended, mandates non-discrimination by the federal
government in its hiring and requires affirmative action, insures
accessibility of buildings constructed with federal funds, mandates
non-discrimination and affirmative action by federal contract
recipients, prohibits discrimination in programs and activities,
and requires standards for electronic and information technology.

Centers for Independent
Living Independent Living Centers are typically non-residential,
private, non-profit, consumer-controlled, community-based organizations
that provide services and advocacy by and for persons with all
types of disabilities.
Disability and Business
Technical Assistance Centers (DBTACs) The National Institute
on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) has established
ten regional centers to provide information, training, and technical
assistance to employers, people with disabilities, and other entities
with responsibilities under the ADA.
