8th AFSUMB Workshop

Asian Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology [AFSUMB] has completed its 8th Workshop successfully in the City of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on 5, 6 & 7 August 2010.

Mongolian Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound, under the leadership of Prof. Sodob Sonin-President of the MSDU, organized the workshop. Prof. Sonin and his team have done an excellent work.
Total 183 participants, male 30% and female 70% joined the program. 70% participants were from hospitals and 30% from private clinics. Participants were from 16 provinces out of 21 provinces of Mongolia, from 6 districts out of 8 districts of Ulaanbaatar. Total 26 lectures were delivered, 5 hands-on-sessions. A full day workshop on breast ultrasound preceded the AFSUMB workshop which was attended by 30 participants.
The workshop was well organized and well attended. The Country of Mongolia very beautiful, peoples are very friendly and helpful. MSDU organized a countryside tour for the AFSUMB Faculty, which was excellent. Both the foreign speakers and local participants enjoyed the workshop very much. Mongolian National TV and other media covered the workshop nicely. A meeting of the Education Committee of the AFSUMB was held on 6 August 2010.
